Cold lifeless

The first sims I am writing about is ‘Furillen’ its a sims i keep going back to again and again. Not just for the music but for the fellowship and friendship that can be made there. Its a bubbling community for artist and explorers to secondlife.

What is ‘Furillen’?

Furillen (older spelling Furilden) is an island on the northeast coast of Gotland, Sweden. For most of the 20th century, there was a limestone industry on the island until it was closed to the public by the Swedish military in the 1970s–90s, when radar installations became operational. The north part of Furillen is a nature reserve and a Natura 2000 area. For me there is a closeness as I live on an island, it has a community unlike Furillen from what I can read and find out, life circulates around the hotel now and the wooden huts where guest can go and get away from every day life; Where as online in secondlife there is always an influx of people tping in and out but you can always find an isolated spot, to sit, to meditate, take photos, write and listen to the haunting music being played.

The Furillen sim is looked after by the ‘Caretaker’ as he is fondly known by but his actual av name is ‘Serene Footman’. The sims has been built with compassion as near as he realistically can in a 3d world. Many artist come and go but there is a family atmosphere within ‘Furillen’ a place where artists come and stay, share their passion for a place many of us will never see in real life but reading up about it, it sounds like an ideal place to go and visit and leave all electrical and man made toys behind. I discovered an article in ‘Telegraph’ called ‘ Dare to switch off’ there is a link to the article here.
